1 Corinthians 15:27
1 Corinthians 15:2727For “God has put everything under His feet.” Now when it says that everything has been put under Him, this clearly does not include the One who put everything under Him.
The Watchtower emphasises the clarification in 15:27 — "the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him" — as conclusive proof of the Son's subordinate, creaturely status. The passage is read as settling the hierarchy permanently: Father over Son, because a higher-ranking being does not subject himself to another. The ontological vs. economic distinction standard in Trinitarian theology is not engaged; the reading is flattened to functional equals ontology.
The JW reads Paul's clarification in 15:27 but misses why Paul needed to make it. Paul writes that "all things" have been subjected to the Son, then immediately adds: "it is evident that this does not include the One who subjected all things to him." Ask the obvious question at the door: "Why would Paul have to exclude the Father from 'all things' if the Son were a creature? No one reading about an archangel's authority would think the Father was included. Paul's clarification only makes sense if the Son's authority is so divine in scope that readers might otherwise conclude it covers the Father himself." That is an argument FROM the disclaimer, not against it.
